Conservation & Detection Dog Services

Training and handling detection dogs has become the primary focus of the Tate business since 2015. On average our dogs and handlers are in the field 50% of the year. We are currently engaged to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (formerly OEH NSW) on 3 different major projects detecting Koalas, Invasive plants and Feral animals.

Our dogs have recently been used in two successful, large scale pest eradication programs and have several smaller ongoing projects finding threatened and invasive species.

We have teams ready to go on the following targets: Koalas, Quolls, Foxes, Cats, Rabbits, Hares, Cane Toads, Owls, Hawkweed, Alligator Weed, Rats (invasive and native), Mice and Truffles.

Adding additional targets to experienced dogs and handlers can usually be achieved within a matter of weeks.

We can also provide the following relevant services:

Workshops for handlers and trainers of any skill level
Detection classes for RTO’s
Acquiring and training of dogs for specific targets
Handlers
Dog and handler validation tests
